Applying to our School

Students interested in applying to TYWLS of Brooklyn are encouraged to attend one of our open houses. Middle and high school open houses will be added to our school calendar each fall, but families are encouraged to drop by Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for a tour with Ms. Remy, no appointment necessary.

TYWLS of Brooklyn has a limited number of 6th grade (middle school) and 9th grade (high school) seats each fall. If you are interested in applying to our school, speak to your guidance counselor about listing TYWLS of Brooklyn as your first choice. Can a student apply to TYWLS of Brooklyn if they're entering grades other than 6th or 9th?

If seats are available in that grade, students may apply to TYWLS as transfer students on a case by case basis. Students interested in applying to TYWLS for grades 7-8 should contact Ms. Remy. Students interested in applying to TYWLS for grades 10-12 should contact Ms. Goodwin. Find their contact information here.

How are admission decisions made?

Applications decisions are looked at holistically. In addition to students' academic record, attendance record and participation at one of our open houses, the admission committee also looks for students' motivation to grow, desire to give back to their community, and willingness to attend a uniformed all girls school.

Are TYWLS middle school students automatically accepted to TYWLS high school?

Students who attend TYWLS of Brooklyn middle school are given priority acceptance to TYWLS of Brooklyn high school. Still, students must go through the same application process as students applying from outside of TYWLS.
